UK funds Type 31e frigate competitive design phase

Industry teams led by Atlas Ele-ktronik UK, Babcock, and BAE Systems have been shortlisted by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to compete for the UK Royal Navy's (RN's) Type 31e frigate programme.All three have been funded by the MoD's Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation to develop their candidate design, build strategy, and commercial proposals. A preferred bidder for design and manufacture of the ships is planned to be announced by the end of 2019.
