Chilean Navy procures Airbus H125 helicopters

The Chilean Navy has ordered two H125 light helicopters from Airbus. It is the first procurement step in the planned acquisition of five aircraft to replace the service's Bell 206 Jet Rangers (designated SH-57) for liaison, utility and for the training of rotary-wing pilots. The order, worth USD6.7 million, came after the finalisation of negotiations with Airbus, whose H125 was selected from a shortlist that also included Leonardo's AW119Kx Koala.
