In early July four surface combatants as-signed to Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG2) sailed into the Black Sea for a routine patrol designed to enhance interoperability among allied units, build co-operation with partner countries, and demonstrate a commitment to regional security. Almost immediately, the surface combatants were deployed in Exercise 'Sea Breeze', hosted by Ukraine and the United States, in which ships, aircraft, and personnel from 19 countries test a broad spectrum of capabilities in waters off Odessa.
