Poland suspends Gawron II corvette programme

Poland's Ministry of National Defence (MND) announced a temporary halt to its Projekt 621 (Gawron II) corvette programme on 16 September, as the hull of the prototype vessel entered the water at the Stocznia Marynarki Wojennej (SMW) naval shipyard in Gdynia.rnFitted with an Avio Polska-provid-ed LM2500 gas turbine but lacking any superstructure or other shipboard systems, the hull underwent a 'technical launch' on 16 September intended to verify its floatation capabilities. It is expected to return to the assembly hall on 22 September.
