The MBDA-developed Principal Anti-Air Missile System (PAAMS) has demonstrated its ability to defeat a supersonic sea-skimming threat during a live test off southern France. Undertaken on 4 April at the Direction Generate de rArmement Essais de Missiles (DGA EM) range off the He du Levant, the end-to-end test saw the PAAMS system on board the French Navy Horizon frigate Forbin detect, track and intercept - using an Aster 30 missile - a GQM-163A Coyote supersonic sea-skimming target.
