The first of the Indian Navy's (IN's) eight Boeing P-8I Neptune long-range maritime patrol aircraft arrived at Indian Naval Station (INS) Rajali in Arakkonam, southern India, on 15 May. An IN spokesman in New Delhi told IHS Jane's that the P-8, which has anti-submarine warfare capability and an operational range of 1,200 n miles, will be formally inducted into squadron service by the end of the year after two more P-8Is are delivered to INS Rajali in September and November.
