Although the navies of Italy and Spain have no immediate plans to acquire new afloat replenishment fleets, shipbuilders in these nations continue to offer proven double-hull designs into the export market. Fincantieri has in recent years delivered to the Indian Navy two 27,500-ton Deepak-class fleet replenishment tankers, INS Deepak and INS Shakti. Capacities include 12,000 tons of fuel oil, 2,300 tons of AVCAT aviation fuel, 2,000 tons of fresh water, 1,000 tons of lubrication oil, 200 tons of ammunition, and 150 tons of provisions. Embarked by a large crane, shipping containers can be installed on the forecastle.
