US Air Force delivers 500th Combat II airborne intelligence system

The US Air Force's 950th Electronic Systems Group (ESG) at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts, has delivered the 500th Combat Track II airborne intelligence system.rnIn production since 2004 and used by the air mobility fleet as well as on some bombers, the system allows aircrews to send and receive situational awareness and threat data. This includes information on ground threats, including mobile surface-to-air missile sites.rnThe system includes a small laptop computer and a GPS and satellite communication-enabled radio, which can receive and transmit information derived from the Integrated Broadcast System.
