Almaz-Antey unveils Tor-M2 training simulator

Almaz-antey and the 'Kupol' Izhevsk Electromechanical Factory have developed a simulator to train commanders and operators in the use of the Tor-M2 (SA-15 'Gauntlet) air-defence missile system. Although the designation 9F678M suggests that the new system is an improved version of the earlier 9F678 simulator, in practice it is virtually an all-new solution compatible with the 9A331MU, 9A331MK and 9A331MKM Tor vehicles. The simulator will be installed in a standard-sized container fitted with air-conditioning and a power supply. Normally carried by a four-axle KamAZ truck chassis, it is designed to be transportable by air (using an An-22 or An-124), rail or ship. Optional configurations include variants based on a trailer, semitrailer, or installed in a fixed location. Simulators can be ready for use within 30 minutes of arrival, and a similar time is needed to prepare the system for despatch.
