US DoD begins sealift of MRAP vehicles to Iraqi theatre

The United States Department of Defense (DoD) began transporting MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles to Iraq by sea in November, writes Donald McFarlane. The DoD sent its first shipment of 48 vehicles to Iraq on 3 November. Up to that point, MRAP vehicles were flown to Iraq, at a rate of 360 per month.
