Picture perfect: system integration is the prime enabler for Dutch LCF frigate

The Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) Luchtverdedigings en Commando Fregat (LCF - air defence and command frigate) HrMs De Zeven Provlncien and its three sister ships are very much in the vanguard of a new generation of European anti-air warfare (AAW) frigates borne out of the collapse of the eight-nation NFR-90 frigate programme at the start of the 1990s. Intrinsic to the LCF's primary air-defence capability is an advanced sensor and fire-control suite, developed under the leadership of Thales Nederland, fully integrated into a combat management system 'home grown' by the in-house Centre for Automation of Mission Critical Systems (CAMS-Force Vision).
