New images emerged in early March revealing fresh details on China's People Liberation Army Navy's (PLAN's) trimarans, which have been designated as search-and-rescue (SAR) platforms. At least two vessels have been commissioned by the PLAN known as East Rescue (hull number 335) and North Rescue (hull number 143). The PLAN trimarans, which are 60 m in length and displace approximately 550 tonnes, feature a long and slim main hull spreading into two outriggers near the stern, which supports a large open helicopter deck.
