Twelve UK Royal Navy (RN) Type 23 frigates will receive new diesel generators and power conversion equipment as part of a Power Generation and Machinery control and surveillance (MCAS) Update (PGMU) programme. Announcing the move, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) said that it had placed separate contracts, aggregating to a value of GBP80 million (USD125 million), with Rolls-Royce subsidiary MTU and Hitzinger UK.
