IAI details EHUD training system pods

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) delivered its 1,000th EHUD Autonomous Air Combat Manoeuvring Instrumentation Training (AACMI) system pod to the Italian Air Force during a ceremony at the Interservice/Industry Training Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) 2014 in Orlando, Florida, in December. The EHUD AACMI was first developed in 1993 and is in service with 18 air forces. It provides high-fidelity simulation and realistic tactical engagement training for aircraft. Each aircraft is equipped with an instrumented pod, which provides simulated weapons, realtime tracking using differential GPS and links to a ground station, as well as electronic warfare and a flight hazard warning system. The system provides scoring and after-action "what-if" debriefing capabilities.
