Swooping down: Seagull USV concept seeks to even up the undersea battle

Israel's Elbit Systems has used expertise and technology from its unmanned air and ground systems families to underpin the development of a new multimis-sion unmanned surface vessel (USV) system initially targeted at mine countermeasures (MCM) and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) missions. Known as Seagull, the concept emerged from a high-level strategic analysis originally started in 2013. Development has been led by a new Naval Systems Business Line established within Elbit's Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) division.
