Relations between the United States and Pakistan look set to warm again after Islamabad agreed to reopen vital NATO supply lines on 3 July following US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's carefully worded public apology for a botched air raid in November 2011 that prompted the border's closure. In return, the US said it would release approximately USDi.i billion under the Coalition Support Fund to reimburse the Pakistani military for anti-insurgency operations that had been withheld as bilateral relations plunged to all-time lows.
