Bahrain faces violence after outlawing of Shia council

Bahrain's high administrative Court outlawed the Shia Ulama Islamic Council (UIC) on 29 January, ruling that it had engaged in political activities that threatened the kingdom's security. The verdict means political reconciliation between the Shia-majority population and Sunni government is very unlikely.
