Milrem Robotics Type-X RCV

Estonian company Milrem Robotics announced on 7 January that its new Type-X Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) had passed its initial mobility tests in October 2020. The company's CEO, Kuldar Vaeaersi, said that it planned to conduct further testing to validate the platform's performance and mobility. This would include basic autonomous functions such as waypoint navigation, obstacle detection, and follow-the-formation manoeuvres. The Type-X, the development of which was revealed in May 2020, is the first RCV to be produced in Europe. The platform is comparable with an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) in terms of its main armament and it will become an intelligent wingman designed to provide direct support to the main battle tanks and IFVs of mechanised forces.
