Video footage released by Chinese state-owned media on 2 March indicates that another Type 052D (Luyang Ⅲ)-class destroyer has entered service with China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). The video, which was posted on the China National Radio (CNR) website, shows the vessel - believed to have been named Huainan -along with seven other relatively new vessels from the PLAN's North Sea Fleet taking part in what the media outlet said was a five-day training exercise in the Yellow Sea. The other ships included at least three Type 052D destroyers and several Type O56/O56A (Jiangdao)-class corvettes. CNR said the training was designed to improve the combat preparedness of the crew.
