Imagery shows first KJ-600 AEW prototype aircraft at China's Xian-Yanliang airfield

Analysis of commercial satellite imagery captured on 24 June suggests that China's Xian Aircraft Corporation (XAC) has completed assembly of what appears to be the first carrier-based airborne early warning (AEW) prototype aircraft for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). The aircraft, allegedly designated the KJ-600, was located at the airfield at Xian-Yanliang, which is home to both the China Flight Test Establishment (CFTE) and XAC's manufacturing and flight test facilities.
