摘要

Australia is putting the finishing touches on a new independent audit mechanism for its defence-industrial collaboration policy: the Australian Industry Capability (AIC) programme. In a statement to Jane's Australia's minister for defence industry, Melissa Price, said the proposed audit process is intended to ensure that contractors are held to account for their AIC obligations. The AIC programme seeks to maximise Australian industry participation in defence procurements with the aim to develop local capability. The domestic defence-industrial base comprises mainly small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
