British Army rebalances major commands

A new divisional headquarters is being formed by the British Army to concentrate on asymmetric and information warfare in so-called "grey zone conflicts". The commander of the UK Field Army, Lieutenant General Ivan Jones, announced on 31 July that the Force Troops Command at Upavon in Wiltshire would be rebadged into the new 6 (UK) Division on 1 August. The division "focuses on cyber, electronic warfare, intelligence, information operations, and unconventional warfare through niche capabilities such as the specialised infantry battalions", he said.
