Turkey localises 65% of defence equipment needs

Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay has revealed that the country's defence industry is now fulfilling 65% of domestic military equipment needs. Speaking at a conference held by Turkish Aerospace on 2 March, the vice-president was quoted by Turkey's Hurriyet daily newspaper as saying, "It is essential that we use our own resources in an effective and productive way to make progress in the defence industry field."
