Canada's air force will continue to project air power as an essential component of a more integrated defence force as envisioned in the 2005 Canadian Defence Policy Statement: 'A Role of Pride and Influence in the World'. This first review of Canada's defence policy in more than 10 years sets the course for Canada's air force. It presents a new vision for the Canadian Forces in light of new threats faced by Canadians today and sets the stage for the transformation of the Canadian Forces into a better-organised and better-equipped force for national security and international missions.
