Trio to jointly study European land combat missile

France, Sweden and the UK have agreed to pool EUR60 million ($72 million) worth of technology demonstration programme funding to collaborate on a study of a future land combat missile system, known as the European Modular Missile (EMM). Agreement on the scheme was reached during a trilateral government meeting in Paris on 10 May. Under the deal, the three countries are expected to award national technology demonstration programme (TDP) contracts to their national industries by the end of 2005.
