Wiesel self-propelled mortar nears completion

Rheinmetall Landsysteme of Germany (RLS) expects to complete development of its 120 mm Wiesel 2 self-propelled mortar (SPM) by the end of 2006. The system can be rapidly deployed by air inside, or slung under, a CH-53G helicopter as used in large quantities by the German Army.
