Rheinmetall Develops Mout-optimised Weapon System

Rheinmatall Defence has commenced concept studies ol a new multirole turret-mounted weapon system suitable lor military operations in urban terrain (MOUT). The new system will have a calibre of 90 mm to 105 mm and a calibre length of 42,45 or 50 mm. It will be capable of direct and indirect fire missions with a f ire-on-the-move capability. A high elevation means it will be of particular use in urban and mountain operations and it will have a maximum range in the indirect fire role of almost 20 km.
