VT Group keen to buy UK Defence Support Group

UK support services company VT Group is keen to acquire the UK Ministry of Defence's (MoD) Defence Support Group (DSG) should it be put up for sale under UK government moves to shrink defence procurement costs. VT is currently eyeing potential acquisition targets under a strategy that is underpinned by a GBP400 million (USD670 million) 'war chest' following the GBP346 million sale of its 45 per cent shareholding in naval shipbuilding venture BVT Surface Fleet Ltd to former majority shareholder BAE Systems: a deal that was completed on 30 October.
