Heron contract hangs in balance as Israeli staff leave Turkey

Israeli defence companies Elbit Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) have pulled their employees out of Turkey, bringing into question the future of the USD190 million contract to provide Ankara with Heron unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and associated services.rnThe once strong diplomatic relationship between the two countries suffered a serious blow following an Israel Navy raid on a flotilla of international Gaza aid ships on 31 May. Nine people, all of them Turkish, were killed.
