Chilean Navy to receive C-295 Persuader MPAs by mid-May

The Chilean Navy is set to receive three new Airbus Military (formerly EADS CASA) C-295 Persuader maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) by mid-May, an industry source confirmed to Jane's on 14 April.rnThe aircraft will join the three C-295ACH Persuaders already operated by Naval Reconnaissance Squadron-1, based at Base Aeronaval Vina del Mar, approximately 100 km northwest of the capital, Santiago.rnThey will be equipped with the EADS-CASA Fully Integrated Tactical System and armed with anti-ship missiles and torpedoes.
