Fresh reports emerge of Spanish debt woes

The Spanish Ministry of Defence's (MoD's) mounting debts with industry go much further than the EUR750 million (USD1 billion) believed to have been run up with EADS, a senior industry figure has said.Julian Garcia Vargas, the president of the Spanish defence, aeronautics and space trade body TEDAE, told the El Economista newspaper that the current debts did not end with the money owed to EADS, which is largely connected to the supply of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft."There are other companies like General Dynamics [Santa Barbara Sistemas] and ITP [Industria de Turbo Propulsores] that have payments pending before the end of the year," he was quoted as saying.
