Spanish company Expal is one of five foreign companies invited by the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) to compete for a 120 mm mortar and ammunition contract. The others are Israel's Elbit Systems, Finland's Patria, Singapore's ST Kinetics and France's TDA. Expal confirmed on 4 July that the contract will involve technology transfer to India's Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) plant near Kolkota.
