Insurgents are firing longer range Iranian artillery rockets at the UK's largest base in Afghanistan in a bid to disrupt the withdrawal of British forces from the country. The Camp Bastion complex, which is located far from population centres and the fertile 'green zone' in Helmand province, was hit by five 122 mm rockets on 28 April in the second such attack in two months. British Army weapons experts told IHS Jane's that the projectiles have been identified as Iranian-made Arash 2 rockets with a range of 30 km and a 20 kg warhead. Rockets of that calibre usually have a range of 20 km.
