The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and Saab have completed missile integration firings of the MBDA Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) from the Gripen fighter, the company announced on 7 July. These final firings, which were conducted earlier in the year, were geared at validating seeker performance and missile range. Two missiles were fired at remotely controlled targets on 12 and 13 March at FMV's Vidsel Test Range in northern Sweden, demonstrating safe separation from the aircraft and datalink functions between the aircraft and missile.
