Tatra Trucks confirms Saudi assembly plant

Czech transport vehicle maker Tatra Trucks is in the process of completing an assembly plant in Saudi Arabia as part of a three-year CZK4.5 billion (USD224 million) contract to supply the Royal Saudi Land Forces with Tatra T 810 6x6 medium transport trucks and Tatra T 815-7 heavy transport trucks. "I can confirm that we have launched a project to build and assemble [our transport vehicles] in the Middle East. In January we delivered the first vehicles," Petr Rusek, chairman of the board and business operations director for Tatra Trucks, told Czech media on 26 May. "We are helping local government-owned companies to complete an assembly plant and at the same time are negotiating with local partners who could act as potential subcontractors," Rusek added.
