US Army holds S&T funding steady

In its fiscal year 2016 (FY 2016) budget request the US Army hopes to protect science and technology funding at around last year's level. The army's USD6.93 billion FY 2016 research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) budget request invests in a variety of activities but places "a priority towards meeting long-term objectives, exploration, and research", according to service budget documents released on 2 February. In FY 2015 the RDT&E budget was USD6.7 billion.
