SESAR progress comes under scrutiny as Joint Undertaking begins to tackle work packages

The release of 300 projects worth EUR1.9 billion (USD2.8 billion) in mid-2009 enabled Europe to forge ahead in developing the technical aspects of the Single European Sky (SES).rnThe SESAR Joint Undertaking (JU) is co-ordinating research work ahead of the deployment phase, which is due to start in 2014 in order to deliver the safety, efficiency and capacity targets of the SES programme.
