Advanced baggage-handling technology for the new Kunming International Airport has entered the test phase. The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is evaluating the system before the airport enters service in July 2 012. The main baggage-handling system (BHS) includes more than 13 km of conveyor and will be used to sort, x-ray and make up bags from more than 150 check-in desks.
