Air New Zealand rolls out Bluetooth-based cargo tracking project

Air New Zealand is implementing new cargo-tracking technology throughout its global network, as it seeks to improve its operational efficiency. The airline is installing 5,500 Bluetooth tags on cargo containers, pallets, and unit load devices, as well as more than 100 readers, at the 29 airports worldwide where it provides cargo services. Whenever a tagged item passes a reader, it automatically updates an online application and delivers real-time information to Air New Zealand.
