2050 WATER INNOVATION STRATEGY

The development of the strategy, which aims to deliver sector-wide innovation, has been a genuinely collaborative effort. All 19 of the UK's water companies have been involved through a series of subgroups, with facilitation from UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) and Arup. Together, they developed a draft strategy, launched in July, as a starting point for much wider participation in its development. The draft strategy set out a vision to create open collaboration across the water sector, drive transformational change through innovation and deliver greater value for customers and the environment. It was organised into seven key themes which align with the United Nation's sustainable development goals and incorporate UKWIR's Big Questions that frame the current research agenda for the UK.
