Carlos Slim Helu, Chairman of Grupo Carso and President of the Carlos Slim Foundation, studied Civil Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where he also taught Algebra and Linear Programming while studying for his degree. A Mexican, son of Lebanese immigrants and a self-made man, Mr Slim is a widely known successful businessman and philanthropist.
