Halley Ⅵ

Halley Ⅵ, opened in February 2013, is the latest incarnation of Britain's Halley Research Station, which has been in continuous operation for 54 years. With up to 1.5 meters of snow accumulating each year on the Brunt Ice Shelf, previous research stations have become covered and eventually crushed by the snow, therefore necessitating periodic rebuilding of this station.
