Production and Technology of Iron and Steel in Japan during 2007

According to a forecast of the world economy published by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan in December 2007, the GDP growth rate of the world economy was 3.6% in 2007 and is expected to be 3.4% in 2008. Japan's GDP growth rate was put at 2.0% for 2007 and 1.8% for 2008. On the other hand, extremely high growth was predicted for northeastern Asia, at 9.0% in 2007 and 8.4% in 2008 (for China, 11.3% and 10.3%, respectively).
