For the promotion of Electronic Commerce, many industry groups have made recommen- dations on a variety of policy issues. For example, the GBDe identified in September 1999 policy issues in 9 fields related to Electronic Commerce, and presented recommendations to the governments as well as those to private sector on such issues. Those 9 fields include: (1) Authentication and Security; (2)Consumer Confidence; (3) Content/Commercial Communi- cation; (4)Information Infrastructure; (5) Intellectual Property Rights; (6)Jurisdiction; (7)Liability; (8) Protection of Personal Data; and (9) Tax and Tariffs. This article reports the brief summary of the GBDe recommendations.
