摘要

This Paper seek to investigate the simulation techniques used for wireless communication systems The aim of the research is to provide a comprehensive list of various Network Simulators (General Purpose Simulators and Specific Simulators) which are available for researchers to do advanced research on Wireless Communication by reviewing the available simulation tools, highlighting the features of the simulators and using one of the best simulator to simulate and test wireless Network. A review of NetTopo Simulator, Probabilistic Wireless Network Simulator (PROWLER), Matrix Laboratory (MA TLAB)/Simulink, Platform for Integrated Communications and Control design, Simulation, Implementation and Modelling (PiccSIM), Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW), Cisco Packet Tracer, Satellite Network Simulator 3 (SNS3), Systems Tool Kit (STK), Visual System Simulator (VSS) and Psimulator2 Network Simulator was presented along with their respective features with a sample wireless simulation. The investigated techniques will aid Computer and communication expert to select the most suitable tool for simulating and testing wireless communication Systems.
