Logistics real estate growth thanks to the port of Hamburg

The port of Hamburg is booming, and the building industry is also benefiting. New logistics centres and jobs are being created, and there seems to be no end to this favourable development. One example is HHLA Rhenus Logistics, a new joint venture that intends to invest EUR 30 million in new logistics premises in the coming years. In the last few months, several major logistics providers have announced their interest in setting up shop at the port on the Elbe. Suppliers of specialist logistics are also falling in love with the idea. Now yet another company is moving to this area: the HHLA Rhenus Logistics joint venture (see ITJ 09·10/ 2005, page 34).
