A maiden call at Khor Fakkan

Hyundai Merchant Marine's 《Hyundai Brave》 recently called at the emirate of Sharjah's port of Khor Fakkan (United Arab Emirates). The port's containership berths will be extended by an additional 400 m this year. The Khorfakkan Container Terminal (KCT) in the United Arab Emirates, which Gulftainer operates on behalf of the Sharjah Port Authority, recently took advantage of a further opportunity to prove its capabilities when Hyundai Merchant Marine's 8,600 teu, 339 m long, 99,000 dwt 《Hyundai Brave》 sailed into the port of Khor Fakkan in the Gulf of Oman for the first time. The vessel is being operated in CMA CGM's French Asia Line (FAL) service. Peter Richards, director and general manager of Gulftainer, recounted how 《it was especially important to us to provide fast discharging and handling (155 move- ments an hour), because many shipping lines complain nowadays about congestion in Middle Eastern ports and worldwide.》
