From 1 July this year, all Swiss exporters must use the new electronic export declaration system, known as e-dec Export, to report what they are sending out ofrnthe country to Switzerland s customs authority. After a two-month trial, the Swiss customs authorities are satisfied with the results. Irene Oppliger, project manager IDEE/e-dec Export, said that ?the systemrnis functioning well! We will further optimise the e-dec Export version to be released in March. This pertains especially to the send-to-transit interface and the advance notice for data of goods that are going to third countries. At present slightly morernthan 200 companies have registered for e-dec Export. When the current simplified Swiss export regulation, known as VAR or RSE, expires on 30 June this year, approximately 800 to 1,000 enterprises will work with e-dec Export.?
