A Van Gogh hanging on the control tower at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse

EuroAirport recently had a new poster mounted on its control tower to say welcome to an exhibition entitled «Vincent van Gogh between Earth and Heaven: the land-scapes», which is being staged by Basel's art museum from 26 April to 27 September this year. The poster underscores the role that EuroAirport plays as a strategic gateway to a plethora of cultural treasures in France, Germany and Switzerland, the three countries that it serves, in addition to Basel's internationally renowned museums and exhibitions. The airport is an interface between air and overland transport services, and offers a wide range of scheduled flights between earth and heaven, as well as playing an integrating and promotional part in the region's economic life. The huge 14 × 7 m poster, which was affixed to the control tower by alpinists, portrays the harvest of glowing corn fields in Provence (Anvers, July 1890).
