Scandlines has a number of new developments in the offing. The company will be bringing two new ships into operation in spring 2012, and is also investing in the modernisation and expansion of port facilities. Scandlines has chosen the names Copenhagen and Berlin for the two new ferries which it will bring into service on the Rostock-Gedser route in spring 2012. The first of these will operate under the Danish flag, and the Berlin under the German flag. «This decision is a reflection of the deep roots that Scandlines has in the two countries, said the company's CEO Bengt Pihl.
